Real martial arts for the real
world.
Steeped in the traditions from
around the world, embracing the
warrior spirit of the Samurai
and Shaolin Monks, Spirit Warriors
Martial Arts of Santa Fe, New
Mexico brings forth the old ways
and blends them with the new to
create a contemporary Martial
Art that meets the needs of people
in our modern world.
Holistic and integrated in approach
Spirit Warriors trains the body,
mind and soul, developing the
whole person and bringing to life
the Spiritual Warrior that lives
within.
Spirit
Warriors Martial Arts offers two
main areas of study.
Black Tiger Kung Fu
The first area of concentration
involves a traditional and contemporary
approach to the warrior arts through
the study of Black Tiger Kung
Fu.
Kung Fu has come to mean Chinese
Martial Arts, however it’s real
meaning is time and energy spent
on developing skill and expertise.
In Black Tiger Kung Fu the student
develops personal discipline,
confidence and integrity. They
increase strength, flexibility
and endurance and achieve mental
clarity, emotional maturity and
spiritual awareness. Black Tiger
focuses on developing the inner
warrior. As a warrior, a person
has acquired the skills to defend
themselves and others. They have
also developed a high level of
self confidence and find physical
confrontation usually unnecessary.
When asked what style he practiced,
Bruce Lee responded, “You can
call it the art of fighting without
fighting” at which time he proceeded
to humiliate and dispatch his
opponent without striking a blow.
At Spirit Warriors, the student
learns the arts of the warrior
but more importantly they learn
how to win without having to resort
to physical violence. The Spiritual
Warrior has no need to prove himself
superior, but always comes out
a winner.
Chi Tao Kung Fu
The second area of study offered
at Spirit Warriors is Chi Tao
Kung Fu. The main focus is on
developing, purifying, strengthening,
and perfecting internal energy.
Chi Tao teaches students exercises,
meditations and personal practices
to balance and harmonize their
personal energy. The result is
enhanced organ function, mental
clarity, and cultivation of internal
power, health and vitality. Chi
Tao utilizes several Chi Kung
sets, Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan
as well as breathing exercises,
stationary and moving meditation
and other body/mind exercises
to create a complete internal
art.
