of their duties. This is vital
in reducing liability and assuring

and Control Tactics

and secure a subject, clear
and easily understood verbal
commands, single and multiple
officer tactics, single and
multiple subject control tactics,
equipment requirements and options
and the physical skills required
to control cooperative, non-cooperative,
resistant and combative individuals
are all covered.
Pressure
Point Compliance
Pressure Points are areas of
the body that are susceptible
to pressure or impact. They
create pain and/or dysfunction
that help in subduing resistant
or combative subjects. They
are ideal for security and law
enforcement use as they are
highly effective against most
subjects and are very unlikely
to cause injury to the officer
or offender.
Tactical
Use of Impact Weapons
This programs covers the affective
and safe use of Impact Weapons
such as Batons and Flashlights.
Strikes, deflections and subject
control tactics are introduced
and practiced in a controlled
environment. Once the officers
are proficient with the basic
skills, scenarios are used to
expose them to realistic situations
and challenges.
Managing
Aggressive Behavior
MAB teaches the participant
how to communicate in a potentially
violent situation. Participants
learn to read verbal, non-verbal
and body language cues and how
to be respond in a non-threatening
manner. Positioning, distance
and approach all play vital
roles in how a situation will
be resolved. These are introduced
with role-playing scenarios
providing the participants with
an avenue to test their new
knowledge and skills.
Violent
Subject Response
This Defensive Tactics program
immerses participants in the
world of personal violence and
what to do when physically attacked.
This is an intense two-day program
that continues where MAB leaves
off. The subject is threatening
someone else or the officer
directly, attack is iminent,
all attempts to commmunicate
have failed, the subject refuses
to cooperate, and isengaging
is not an option. Now what do
you do? VSR provides the participant
with the knowledge, tactics,
physical skills and mental preparation
needed to survive a violent
attack form a committed and
determined individual. This
is a physically demanding course.
However, the rewards and confidence
gained are well worth the sweat
and effort.

weapon in Todays' society. They
are easy to acquire, easy to
carry and concceal, easy to
use and the results can be devastating.
The use of edged weapons by
some element sof our society
is growing rapidly. It is imperative
that officers who deal with
people in potentially confrontational
or dangerous situations be trained
how to defend against edged
weapons. This program teaches
the participants to respect
and recognize the dangers inherent
in dealing with a person with
an edged weapon. Basic skills
are taught and the importance
of positioning, distancing,
and appropriate response is
emphasized.
